THE ORIGIN STORY
LaQuin is a Houston-born saxophonist, DJ, and MC who brings a personal, soulful touch to wedding celebrations. A Berklee College of Music graduate with a signature Funk and improvisation sound, he blends live saxophone, curated DJ sets, and warm, engaging emceeing into one seamless performance — from the aisle to the dance floor. LaQuin takes the time to learn each couple's story, so the music feels made just for them.
The Artists
The Saxophonist
A graduate of Houston's High School for Performing and Visual Arts and Berklee College of Music, he first picked up the sax at 14 under the mentorship of legendary Kashmere High School Band Director Conrad Johnson — turning a childhood injury into a lifelong passion. Today, LaQuin performs as a solo act, pairing live saxophone with beats, turntables, and real-time arrangements on Ableton Push, delivering a sound that's equal parts soulful and spontaneous.
The DJ Experience
Blending curated mixes with live saxophone and real-time arrangements on Ableton Push, he creates a sound that's equal parts polished and spontaneous — perfect for keeping any crowd moving. A Berklee College of Music graduate with roots in Funk and live performance, LaQuin turns DJing into a genuinely live musical experience, not just a playlist.
